Over the past dozen years as I've discovered the Who and PT, I'd be surprised to learn of different versions of the songs. One such song that I love is Empty Glass. I know that the version on his solo Lp is the fully produced model but what do you think about the version from "Who Are You" re-releasewith Entwistle and Moon?. I'm partial to that demo version, especially with the ending PT originally sang, the bit about "Don't worry, smile and dance..." 3x's. I wish he would've played that up on the solo Lp but opting to just do it once. What do y'all think?

Sun, August 28, 2005 - 3:46 PMThe Who's version is astonishing because of Entwistle's bass harmonics. i mean come on, that is about as killer as it gets-just Pete and Wistle. But the lyrics are more suicidal and therefore I try to avoid that version as its pretty heavy. The Empty Glass version is a bit lighter hahaha love the background vocals. I just love all of that music solo or not. -

Sun, August 28, 2005 - 4:45 PMExcellent note about the harmonics, I forgot your a musician. Yeah, it's a bit harder and faster on the solo Lp but, like you pointed out, the "Who" version is darker and it's still a "Who"ish song.
